Hello magical people!
It's been quite the change of pace for us this year. I have been relying more on my day job as we have been unable to do as many live events lately. With the pregnancy and with some other issues, we've been having trouble keeping up our steam to keep going. However, with summer at the door we are excited to ramp things up again.
Many of you have asked about my mom, she is doing well. Shop-wise, she's excited to make some new jewelry while I clearance out old stock for some summer jewelry. On the family side, she is excited for the new member of the family, we learned it's a boy! Also, she has been happy cooing over the new pack member, Peppe, the cutest little chihuahua I believe I have ever seen, but I am biased. He's been a lot of fun and our other dogs are maybe a bit too old to entertain him but he's having a blast terrorizing all of us with his cuteness. My mom is nesting as am I in preparation for the growing clan.
Those of you who have been following our live sales events have gotten familiar with Kenan. He's doing well though currently recovering from falling ill a couple days ago. This is an ongoing condition but it won't stop him, though sometimes rest periods are necessary. Kenan has been taking over most of the candle making lately and we've been experimenting with different formulas and styles. Our candle making station is growing and aside from aromatic candles we have begun to make spiritual supply candles for rituals and spell work specifically infused with the anointing oils. The idea is that these candles will be on the same level as the 7 day candles you can purchase at witchy shops and botanicas, but in more modern containers.
As for me, I have been very busy with my day job in the insurance industry and trying to keep up with my prenatal appointments. I am an advanced maternal age pregnancy so they are really wanting to be sure I am healthy with things like heart health and sugar levels etc. So far so good. The baby thus far looks healthy and I am excited and moving into belief, from previously still being in denial, as I watch my belly grow and round out. It's been quite the journey for me... I still feel that this is a miracle. As some of you know, I am a singer, hence the name Syren. This year I joined a new band and we've been working on mostly covers. I look forward to sharing this music with you all.
Plans for the shop due to family changes are in place to completely move out of the room we are in now and into a different building on the property. However time and labor is an obstacle. We have to be ready by October and I feel it will be more realistic to expect the move for 2024. I personally miss everyone and interacting live. Although I take care of people off web orders, it truly is something special to interact live. I hope to get back to it sooner than later and in more consistent frequency.
